Dry powders and granules require continuous redistribution inside the blending vessel to achieve a uniform mixture without relying on aggressive high-speed agitation. The geometry of the vessel plays an important role in repeatedly dividing, moving and recombining the material during rotation.

The Double Cone Blender uses two conical sections joined at their bases. As the vessel rotates, the material undergoes repeated tumbling and cascading movement between the cone sections, producing continuous intermixing of compatible powders, granules and solid materials.

The general machine structure is manufactured from SS 304, while product-contact parts can be supplied in Stainless Steel 304 or 316 according to requirement.

Inside the cone, a single shaft carries four fixed mirror-polished baffles to assist movement and redistribution of the material.

The blender incorporates a manual handwheel arrangement for inching and controlled positioning of the vessel. Material is discharged through a butterfly valve, while an openable charging cover provides access for material loading and cleaning. 

Safety provisions include two rear safety rods, front SS 304 pipe guards and a limit switch.

The internal and external cone surfaces are mirror polished, while the supporting structure is matt polished.

Working principle

• Dry powders, granules or other compatible solids are charged into the Double Cone Blender through the loading opening.
• The charging cover is securely closed before operation.
• The drive rotates the double-cone vessel at the selected operating condition.
• As the two conical sections rotate, material repeatedly tumbles and cascades from one section of the vessel to the other.
• This movement continuously divides and recombines the product mass.
• The four internal fixed baffles assist redistribution and mixing of the material.
• Blending speed and mixing time can be selected according to the characteristics of the product.
• After the required blending cycle, the vessel can be positioned using the manual handwheel arrangement.
• The blended material is discharged through the butterfly valve.
