Continuous packaging lines often need a controlled buffer between two machines. Without adequate accumulation, a temporary stoppage at one station can immediately interrupt the adjoining equipment.

The Turntable provides a simple rotary buffer and container-transfer solution for round bottles, vials and jars. It can be installed at the in-feed or out-feed of filling, packing and other packaging machines to collect containers, feed them into downstream equipment or alter the direction of a production line.

Depending on the plant layout, the Turntable can support linear, L-shaped or U-shaped production arrangements. It can also serve as an intermediate buffer, accumulating containers when another machine in the line temporarily stops and subsequently feeding them forward when operation resumes. 

The range is available with 24, 30, 36 and 48 inch discs, allowing the equipment size to be selected according to container flow and available production-floor space.

A worm gearbox and gear motor provide rotary drive, while a Variable Frequency Drive allows the rotational speed to be adjusted according to the adjoining machine.

Visible components are manufactured from AISI 304 Stainless Steel or Aluminum, and a tool less adjustable canal assists setup for different compatible container diameters. 

For Tanzania pharmaceutical and packaging plants, the Turntable provides a straightforward method of improving container accumulation and line continuity without adding complex automated handling equipment.

Working principle

• Round containers are manually or automatically delivered onto the rotating disc.
• The motor and worm gearbox rotate the Turntable at the selected speed.
• Containers move around the disc while the adjustable canal guides them towards the required exit point.
• When used at machine in-feed, the Turntable accumulates containers and progressively directs them into the adjoining conveyor or machine.
• When installed at machine out-feed, it receives and temporarily collects finished or intermediate containers.
• The equipment can also be positioned between packaging machines to provide an accumulation buffer.
• A Variable Frequency Drive allows rotational speed to be matched with the connected packaging equipment.
